#3: Food & BeverageYou can’t accomplish the true feeling of being at the movies without popcorn and Sunday night football is not complete without a plateful of wings and cold glasses of beer! Food and beverage are part of the overall media room experience, so keep this in mind when discussing plans with your new home builder or as you plan your remodel. There are many types of refrigerators available and you will want to think through how you will use yours to find the style that best fits your household. By adding color to the ceiling it makes the room feel more intimate without feeling like a cave.” These palettes have a mid-tone on the wall with a complementary ceiling color that is a true color and not a white. Finally, for a beige palette, I like SW 7508 Tavern Taupe on the walls with SW 7506 Loggia on the ceiling. For a cool gray palette, I like SW 7673 Pewter Cast on the walls with SW 7671 On the Rocks for the ceiling. Some of my favorites are Sherwin-Williams SW 7642 Pavestone on the walls with SW 7641 Colonnade Gray on the ceiling for a warm gray palette. “In a mixed-use media room, I like to use mid-tone colors. I like to use flat paint in the same color on the walls and ceilings in these spaces to create a true theater feeling experience” says Heather. When it comes to color, we lean on our go-to girl, Heather Sagvold, Dietrich Homes’ Design Consultant.“For a dedicated theater room, I like Sherwin-Williams SW 7674 Peppercorn for a gray color, SW 7615 Sea Serpent for a blue, and SW 7505 Manor House for a brown color. Allow space for these in your home plan for good flow throughout the room. They are great for socialization and hold a maximum amount of people. Sectional sofas are a great option for soft seating.
